This novelette isn’t exactly a sequel to Ms Monajem’s Notorious Eliza but is taken from a scene in that story in which the hero, Patrick, goes to propose to a young woman but is so appalled by her treatment of her maid that he changes his mind. Arabella was the young woman and it’s a good thing for Matthew that Patrick did back down. This story is short, and sweet, and a little different in that the two lovers are just that…they’ve already been lovers, though it was a long time before [...]


    2. I didn't much care for either lead here because the heroine was a cold fish and the hero trying to distance himself from her.
