    1. This makes a good introduction book to William the Conqueror. Some things are a little light on details (family) while other things are more drawn out. It could be a little dry at some points. Though there were parts that went back and forth in terms of years, it overall follows a chronological time frame. Overall a good book but definitely want to read more.


    2. This is the first biography of William the Conqueror I've read. It's quite sympathetic to William. It's fairly short at 186 pages of text interspersed with illustrations. I agree with another reviewer who said that it's a good introduction but leaves you wanting more detail. I look forward to reading the biographies by David Douglas and David Bates. I've moved on to Trevor Rowley's biography of William's half brother Odo called "The Man Behind the Bayeux Tapestry: Odo, William the Conqueror's Ha [...]
